This week we walking down the Chess Valley in the Chilterns, plucking fresh watercress from the beds of the river Chess.

The River Chess rises at Chesham and flows south for 10 miles down through Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire to Rickmansworth. This walk from Latimer is an easy seven miles through waterside meadows, a watercress bed farm and lunch at The Cock Inn at Sarrats Bottom (a little over half way).

Outward and return journeys on the Metropolitan Line.
